Prime Minister Barzany Attends ISC-Erbil Inauguration
Opening ceremonies for The International School of Choueifat-Erbil were celebrated on March 20th, 2006. With an impressive attendance list including Kurdistan Prime Minister, H.E. Nechervan Barzany, the Education Minister Abdul Aziz Tayeb , and the Governor of Erbil Nawzad Hadi
along with other prominent individuals, attendees looked on as the school building’s cornerstone was laid.   

The inauguration ceremony also included a presentation of the maquette by Mr. Varand, a representative from the architecture firm of Khatib & Alami.  Once completed, the permanent grounds of ISC-Erbil will feature a state-of-the-art campus with a semi-Olympic sized swimming pool, as well as modern classrooms, laboratories for the sciences and IT, a library, and staff accommodation. Plans are for a campus that will eventually house up to 2,500 students. 

ISC-Erbil opened for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 in September of 2006 and is the 34th member of the SABIS® School Network, a network currently celebrating its 120th anniversary.

ISC-Erbil joined the other schools in the network in providing students with a high-quality education.
